1983 Fender Stage Lead Amp
A very clean and recently refurbished and blueprinted 100 watt solid state a combo amp. The power electrolytic caps were all
replaced as well as a few very drifted resistors. Power switch was non functioning and replaced. The original knobs were missing and so all were replaced with new vintage Fender knobs. A footswitch (not the original but a Fender non the less) is included that controls the Channel switching and the Reverb. Completely cleaned inside and out. The original grill is still intact and in great condition. Some light rust/pitting on metal surfaces and screw heads.
Here's a description of the amp:
2 channel amp, switchable from the front of the amp or via a footswitch which you can plug into the back. Channel 1 is the 'clean' channel and channel 2 is the 'lead' channel. Each channel has it's own set of EQ and volume controls. The controls are as follows:
Channel 1: Vol – Treble – Middle – Bass – Reverb
Channel 2: Vol – Gain – Master – Treble – Middle – Bass – Reverb
Channel 2 has more flexibility with the additional 'Gain' and 'Master' knobs.
Channel 1 has a high headroom and so is ideal as a clean channel. Channel 2 is designed to be an overdrive channel. You can dial in the amount of crunch /overdrive using the volume, gain and master controls. The master control only affects channel 2.
Channel 1 will go very loud, clean and not break up. It doesn't sound digitized. It's full, warm, shimmering plus every other description that you would give to a tube Fender amp.
Channel 2 has a Gain and Master volume control and will give you everything from a variation of Channel 1 to a dirty distorted overdrive sound.
There are Pre-amp Input and Output jacks on the back for connecting to another amp, effects loop, PA, or recording systems.
The reverb is the signature Fender surf sound using a long spring tank enclosed in a tank bag.
Very versatile amp that is great for the gigging musician.
